Our present Chapel was part of our main facility, built in 1977. It was designed to safely accommodate up to 40 people. Because of our growth, this space is inadequate. Today, the Chapel seats only 16% of our residents and less than 1/3 of our average Sunday worship attendance.
Spiritual well-being plays a vital role in promoting a person’s overall health and welfare. Therefore, we have designed an accessible and comfortable worship space which will enable more in-depth participation in corporate worship and foster reverence in celebrating the sacraments, while upholding the dignity and self-worth of each resident.
The innovative concepts, incorporated into the design, are ground-breaking ideas that will distinguish the new St. Luke’s Chapel as a model to be emulated by others across our Nation. We invite you to become involved in demonstrating how long-term care facilities can better address the spiritual health of the elders they serve through the innovative, intentional design of worship space. Your generous gift will help provide this new concept in fostering spiritual health and growth in a long-term care setting. |
